Film ini diarahkan oleh Mat Whitecross, yang berkenalan dengan keempat personilnya di masa kuliah tahun 1996, bahkan sebelum Coldplay terbentuk. Dari sejak latihan pertama di sebuah kamar sempit, Mat telah ada untuk merekam perjalanan musik serta persahabatan mereka.

The film is helmed by Mat Whitecross, who met the four friends at college in 1996, before theyd even formed the band. From the very first rehearsal in a cramped student bedroom, Mat has been there to capture the music and the relationships on tape.
