Setelah menerima ancaman pembunuhan dan intimidasi online lainnya, Kaede Azusagawa mengalami gangguan disosiatif yang mengakibatkan amnesia total. Selama dua tahun berikutnya, dia hidup sebagai orang yang benar-benar baru, bersembunyi dari dunia. Untungnya, berkat kakak laki-lakinya dan beberapa teman barunya, dia bisa pulih—walaupun pemulihan tersebut harus dibayar mahal: kenangan selama dua tahun itu.
Sekarang Kaede tidak hanya harus mencoba melangkah maju dengan lubang di ingatannya, tapi juga menghadapi ketakutan bahwa orang-orang terdekatnya sekarang, mungkin tidak melihatnya sebagai dirinya yang sebenarnya, melainkan sebagai gadis seperti dirinya selama dua tahun terakhir.
After receiving death threats and other online bullying, Kaede Azusagawa had a dissociative break resulting in complete amnesia. For the next two years, she lived as a completely new person, a shut-in hiding from the world. Luckily, thanks to her brother and some new friends, she was able to recover—though said recovery came at a price: those two years' worth of memories.
Now Kaede must not only try to move forward with a hole in her memory, but also deal with the fear that those closest to her now, may not see her as who she really is, but rather as the girl she was for the past two years.
